The Full Story New Green Canterbury Tales: call for storytellers to make a pilgrimage
The Tales to Sustain group of Storytellers propose a series of storytelling-based walks to Canterbury in 2014. New Green Canterbury Tales proposes that storytellers, poets, artists and musicians make the journey to Canterbury declaring their care and concern for the world en route. Setting out in May 2014, and converging on Canterbury in September 2014, the storytellers and other artists will celebrate their journeys with a festival in the city on their arrival.
The core group for New Green Canterbury Tales includes Alida Gersie, Buck Schieffelin, Malcolm Green, Jon Cree, Roisin Murray, Poppy Corbett, Gauri Raje, Suzanne Arnold, Maggie Fearn, Charlene Collison and Eric Maddern.
They suggest storytellers gather as 'seed groups' to organise their journeys. They already have seed groups in Tyneside, Ipswich, North London, Forest Row, Canterbury, Totnes, Bristol, Stroud, West Midlands, Pembrokeshire, northwest Wales and northeast Wales.
