about
From 2000 to 2014, the Ashden Directory published an online magazine of news, interviews and comment on performance and ecology and we built the first and most comprehensive database of the productions and companies that were developing this field. In 2008, we started Ashdenizen, the companion blog to the Directory. As of December 2014, we are no longer updating the sites. Here on the Directory, the database, features and timeline remain accessible. Ashdenizen, too, remains online, but without new entries. The Ashden Directory was edited by Robert Butler and Wallace Heim, with associate editor Kellie Gutman. We would like to thank all the people who contributed to and supported the Directory. Landing Stages. Selections from the Ashden Directory of Environment and Performance 2000 - 2014 is an ebook of writings and photographs from the Directory and Ashdenizen edited by Wallace Heim and Eleanor Margolies. Landing Stages can be downloaded here. The Ashden Directory was a project of the Ashden Trust, one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts.
