As darkness fell in East Anglia on the night of January 31st 1953, no one could have guessed what the following hours would bring. It was the night of the Great Flood. A once in a century combination of an exceptionally high tide and a devastating surge that wreaked havoc in Eastern England. A night that will forever in the memories of the people of East Anglia.
Beneath the Waves relives that harrowing night in a village that was literally washed away.
