 Synopsis
  
Written by Jon Croose, and centring on the geography and culture of the Jurassic Coast in South Devon, Smuggler's Gold told the story of retired fisherman Bill Widger.
    Bill is refusing to leave his East Devon cliff-top cottage, which is falling into the sea because of erosion. In a style similar to Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, night-time visitors take Bill on a farewell trip through time to explore the ancient Jurassic Coast landscape, stories of historic fishing fleets, and the Great Landslip of 1839. But, the cliff could collapse at any minute.

    Will Bill find the smuggler's gold hidden in his garden before it is too late?

Smuggler's Gold was a touring production for family and school audiences. The project was co-funded by Heritage Lottery, and East Devon AONB, and was created as a collaboration with Devon Library Service.
