Field Sensing is a series of walks and movement improvisations responding to particular locations, different landscapes, rural and urban. It includes participatory and live events, video and photographic documentation. Field Sensing activities have taken place in Scotland, Sheffield, Swaledale and Cornwall. It includes durational slow walks and movement improvisations.
These events include a Bosarts Commission in August 2009 to create a participatory Field Sensing event on two days as part of the project 'This Weekend....?' It took place on Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor in collaboration with Peter Herring, an archaelogist with English Heritage, and Jo Salter, photographer. The walk involved inviting participants to slow down their movements in a number of chosen locations on the site in order to heighten their experience of the locality and environment.
