The 6:15 Theatre Company was founded on June 15, 1984 to produce informative, interactive, free and fun plays on environmental issues for children in the 7 - 11 year old age group.
The company's first commission was from the Department of Energy to write, produce, and tour in London junior schools a play about energy efficiency and alternative forms of energy called THE ENERGIZED GUYZ. The next schools education project appropriately entitled OPERATION KBT (Keep Britain Tidy), commissioned by the Tidy Britain Group in 1985.
In 1992, PowerGen, commissioned THE ELECTRIC ENERGY CARNIVAL, a play on how electricity is produced, which formed part of PowerGen's exhibition at the Young Scientists Day at the Museum of Science and Industry. Our long running show was about glass recycling and bottle banks called THE BOTTLE BUSTERS. This show was commissioned by the British Glass Manufacturing Confederation in October 1987 and played in nearly 5,000 schools throughout the UK and has been seen by over 1 million children, as of 1998.
