Formed in Bristol in 1998, Uninvited Guests work in various contexts, focusing mainly on performance but also producing installation and digital media. Our work represents a contemporary reality, in which memories of movies are as much part of our experience as intimate dialogues with lovers. Recent work has blurred the line between theatre and social festivities, with audiences joining us in events that are celebratory and elegiac, nostalgic and critical of these times.

Uninvited Guests’ work has toured nationally and internationally, showing in the UK, China, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria and Australia.

Uninvited Guests’ work is produced by Fuel.

a mobile performance using pervasive technology that asks audiences to collaboratively imagine the future of a city

Uninvited Guests walk with audiences through vacant lots and buildings under construction, sgaring what is planned for the area, and what the utopian and dystopian alternatives might be. A glowing vision of the future will appears, the collective imagining of all those present.

Give Me Back My Broken Night is a theatrical guided tour, not of the historic past but of the future of the city, the future of the Enterprise Zone, Bristol.

Part of a series of Bristol Temple Quarter commissions coordinated by Watershed, Knowle West Media Centre and MAYK, with funding from Arts Council England. Originally commissioned as part of Watershed's Theatre Sandbox in partnership with Soho Theatre.

Come join us, share some ale and stay a while.
Let's found Arcadia in the theatre, a rural idyll amongst the city’s hubbub.

In the guise of some ragtag band, Uninvited Guests invent fakesongs and fakedances for our green and plastic land. They declaim hip Romantic poetry, conjure epic landscapes and attempt a return to some simpler life, a golden age. They give thanks for what we’ve got, and offer prayers to make better please, make better.

Commissioned by Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster and Cambridge Junction. A BAC Scratch Commission. Funded by Arts Council England South West and supported by Dartington College of Arts. An Arnolfini We Live Here commission.

It Is Like It Ought To Be: A Pastoral premiered at the Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster. It toured nationally in autumn 2006 and spring 2008 and was part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase 2007. It toured to Beijing and Shanghai in November 2008.
