Set during 1935-38 in a field, this play by Nick Darke was based on interviews with farmers and villagers in rural Cheshire. It was written for five actors and first performed at the Chester Gateway Theatre.

Nick wrote about the play: 'Landmarks is an attempt to voice a few of the misgivings which might have been in peoples minds when horse met the tractor for the first and last time'.
