Vision
Paradox Theatre is a touring theatre company specialising in children's theatre and theatre-in-education, with an emphasis on science and the environment, and a core principle that learning should be fun.

Addressing the causes of environmental problems our children will face in the future, Paradox Theatre shows encourage both responsible living and care of the environment with the message that happiness can be achieved without excessive consumption.

Our shows combine slapstick, laughter, magic and fun, but with a gentle message to look after the world, and to grow up responsibly.

Selected productions continue in repertory.

The Curse of the Grabbers encourages awareness that excessive and unnecessary consumption is a cause of rapidly diminishing resources, loss of the countryside, global warming, and the resulting pollution of our water, air, and land.
The Grabbers are coming, and the places where birds sing, wild flowers grow, and children play, are disappearing fast. Grabbers destroy them to build factories - factories that make things we don’t need, that turn food into junk, and that destroy the environment.
A blend of storytelling, pantomime, slapstick, and theatre, The Curse of the Grabbers places our environmental crisis into an immediate context that is relevant to young children.

A flying walking stick, a honking cushion, a crazy kazoo, and a magic hat, accompany our hero, William B. Curious, on an adventure into absurdity as he attempts to unravel the mystery of the Book of Questions.

Why do birds sing, what makes a rainbow, why don’t fish drown in the sea, and why do dogs sniff each other’s bottoms?

Curiosity drives the desire to understand. Footprints in the Sky is a comic performance for primary age schoolchildren that stimulates curiosity and awakens an interest in science.
